Bio
Astrid Bowlby, a 2005 Pew Fellow, is a highly versatile artist, known in Philadelphia for both drawing and sculpture. Bowlby's drawings vary in scale from large loose works, often incorporated in her installations, to very intricate intimate drawings. Bowlby has also received a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Fellowship, a Leeway Award for Excellence and a Leeway Window of Opportunity Grant. She has exhibited work in the Delaware Art Museum; Gallery Joe, Temple Gallery, and Project Room (PA.) Bowlby received her MFA in sculpture from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 1996, and her BFA in both sculpture and drawing in 1994 from University of Southern Maine. In addition, she studied in New York for several years at Parsons School of Design and the Art Students League.
