Bio
A printmaker for over twenty years, Hester Stinnett is a Professor of
Printmaking at the Tyler School of Art, Temple University. Her work
is included in numerous private and public collections including the
Philadelphia Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art, Washington,
DC, the Walker Art Center MN, Maguire Tomas Partners, Smith/Kline
Beckman, and ARCO Chemical Company. Her solo exhibitions
include Nexus Foundation for Today's Art, The Print Center, Dolan
Maxwell Gallery and Samuel S. Fleisher Art Memorial, Phila. Her work
has been included in exhibitions at Delaware Art Museum,
Philadelphia Museum of Art, Southwest Texas State University and
Museum of Foreign Art in Bulgaria. The was awarded a Pennsylvania
Council on the Arts Fellowship in 2004. Dividing her time between
teaching and studio work, Ms. Stinnett continues to combine
printmaking techniques such as woodblock, silkscreen and
suminagashi, a traditional Japanese technique.
