Art @ Work

Art @ Work is a Philagrafika program designed to bring art to the workplace. In a fun, one-hour informational presentation, Philagrafika staff can teach your employees or clients about fine art printmaking. Using examples from our highly acclaimed program, the Philagrafika Invitational Portfolio, your guests will experience art first-hand while Philagrafika staff de-mystifies the technical processes of printmaking, gives an overview of a print technique and introduces the basics of collecting. To support the experience, Philagrafika staff will also bring tools used to create art, and guests can take home Printmaking Proofs, a sheet of samples from various print processes, printed on high-quality archival paper.

Introductory Program

• Brief overview of prints, including answers to frequently asked questions like: What is an edition? What is the difference between a print and poster? Why multiples? Why are prints often less expensive than other art forms?
• An introduction to a printmaking technique (choose from screen print, lithography, intaglio, relief)
• Collecting prints including a brief overview of handling and storage, and framing options

Subsequent Programs

Depending on your company’s interest, the introductory program can be followed by subsequent programs that delve further into specific printmaking techniques, a focus on collecting, a hands-on printing workshop, a do-it-yourself framing workshop or a field trip to one or more print shops in Philadelphia. Philagrafika will work with your needs and interest to build an engaging and informational series for your employees and/or clients.
